guarantee conditions

The manufacturer provides 2 years warranty on TSC label printers. The manufacturer's warranty covers the Federal Republic of Germany. If material or manufacturing defects occur during this period, the manufacturer as guarantor provides one of the following services of its choice within the scope of the warranty:

  • free repair of the goods or
  • free exchange of the goods against an equivalent item (if necessary also a successor model, if the original item is no longer available)

The period for the calculation of the warranty period begins with the invoice date. The manufacturer guarantees that under proper use and service the following purchased products and parts are free from defects in material and workmanship. If material or manufacturing defects occur during this period, the manufacturer provides the following guarantees:

In case of complaints about the print quality, it is necessary to include a roll of the label and ribbon material and, if possible, the label file with the device. To avoid transport damages, please remove the label and ribbon from the device.

* With the exception of the Linerless Cutter, all TSC regular/heavy duty/care label cutters do NOT cut any backing material with adhesive. For more information, please refer to the Cutter Specifications chapter in the User Manual.

**The warranty period starts with the date of invoice to the end customer. If the invoice cannot be presented, the date of delivery shall be the date from TSC Auto ID Technology.

** *Print head warranty coverage:
1. non-functional nozzles; 4 nozzles per print head are acceptable
2. please clean the print head if more than 4 dots are missing This will help to restore missing dots. The occurrence of up to 4 single missing dots is acceptable.
3. the warranty does not cover (a) defects or damage resulting from use with non-commercial products; (b) defects or damage resulting from misuse, accident, improper use, improper storage or improper maintenance (c) damage resulting from the use of incompatible consumables or foreign ink.

**** 100 km:
Equivalent to 1 million 4 "x3" printed labels.

A copy of the invoice is required to verify a claim. We also need the following information:

  • Device designation
  • serial number
  • detailed error description

For products that are sent in without a precise description of the fault, the guarantor has the right to choose between carrying out a fault diagnosis, for which a charge is made, or the unrepaired return of the product for a respective processing fee.

If no error can be detected or the error cannot be traced, the device will be returned for a handling fee. In this case, the manufacturer reserves the right to charge the supplier's costs.

Defective devices should be returned in original packaging. If the equipment is improperly packed, a warranty claim is endangered by possible transport damage. In general, the devices are shipped only in original packaging. If the devices were not delivered in original packaging, an original packaging is used and charged by the manufacturer.

The warranty coverage excludes:

  • If the customer modifies the delivery item or has it modified by a third party without the manufacturer's consent and the remedy of the defect becomes impossible or unreasonable as a result. The customer must bear the additional costs arising from the change.
  • parts that have been misused, altered, neglected or not used with the necessary care or used for purposes other than those for which they were manufactured
  • Damage caused by an accident or force of nature (lightning), fire or unauthorized maintenance
  • Modified or unauthorized parts.
  • defects in a printer, if they are due to the use of defective or improper supplied parts with the printer or any defect or error in any unauthorized software running on or in connection with the printer.
  • Printer failures due to water ingress or component failure due to excessive moisture in the printer.
  • Accessories, options (kits installed on site), batteries.
  • failure to observe any safety precautions.
  • Use of force (e.g. blow, impact, fall, scratching).
  • Arbitrary repair attempts.
  • Improperly mounted print heads that were not installed according to the valid EMC regulations.
  • Normal wear (e.g. printing roller, slip clutch or brake).

A claim under the guarantee requires that the guarantor is enabled to check the guarantee case by sending in the goods. In doing so, it must be ensured that damage during transport is avoided by appropriate packaging.

To apply for warranty service, you must enclose a copy of the original invoice of the goods shipment. We ask for your understanding that the manufacturer can refuse the warranty service without enclosing this invoice copy. The sending of the invoice copy serves to calculate the warranty period. In addition, you must provide the name and address of the seller, unless this should be apparent from the enclosed invoice copy.

Note: Your legal rights are not limited by this warranty promise. In particular, any existing statutory warranty rights against us remain unaffected by this guarantee promise.
